"The best road to progress is freedom's road."

So, let me tell y'all a little story.  You know how I can get....about taking little breaks from my blog.  Well, here's the backstory (my favorite thing) about the blog changes.  I lost my debit card in Las Vegas, surprise, surprise.  Well, my domain name was autobilled once a month...on the old card.  Since I have been taking one of my famous "breaks", I kind of forgot about it.  I went to post something today and my domain was gone.  Oops.  I forgot to change my billing information.

Anywho, I like this format better so I'm going to bring it back old school style.

Lots of summer stories to tell.  Where to begin.....

Oh, I wrote a little poem, want to hear it, here it go.

Hope you're all having an incredible Chick-fil-a free day!!!

"Top Gun rules of engagement are written for your safety and for that of your team. They are not flexible, nor am I. Either obey them or you are history. Is that clear?"

I feel like I have to write about this RIGHT NOW or the moment will pass.

Now, let me preface this by saying that I do not make a habit of going out on "school nights"...but when Becky and her BGBD husband Patrick ask me to meet them, if it's a day that ends in "y", I'm there.  I love them too much to say no.

We started at Cock O' the Walk around 9:00.  It was just ok.  It's just not like it used to be...and we had a drink and then proceeded to Edna's.  A place I like to refer to as my alma mater.

I don't really do that, but I think I will from now on.

We were giggling, and singing and being silly when all of a sudden....a couple of Air Force men walk in the door.  We giggled.  Top GUN!!!!  How fun....then, we notice that about 17 more of them just walked in the door.  IN.  THEIR.  FLIGHT.  SUITS.

This could not be any weirder than it is right at that very moment.  I'm not entirely sure if "weirder" is a word...but I'm going to use it anyway.

Now, I think it's pretty darn cool when I see servicemen in public, especially in large groups....I am, probably, unbeknownst to most of you, one of the most patriotic people on the planet.  I have so much respect for people that do what they do.  If I see a flag on the ground, I will freak the you-know-what out on you.  Even if you weren't the person to put it there.  I have so much pride for this country...and the men and women that are willing to fight and die for my freedom is just incredible.

So, needless to say, I think these Air Force people are pretty freaking cool, drinking their lunchboxes with their aviators on top of their heads and whatnot.

Then it happens.

You guessed it.

Someone, so cleverly, played "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" on the jukebox.

It was one of the coolest things I've seen in a minute.  Yes, I did just say that.

there were seriously 57 other people that would not fit in the photo.
I even said to Becky, "I really want to take a picture with all of them, just to remember this, but I think if I do, then tomorrow, I'm just going to be 'one of those girls' and the moment will have already passed."

Okay, maybe I didn't say it that quite as coherently, but she got it...and then I proceeded to get my camera out and did it anyway.  It was just too freaking cool of a moment not to.

At one point, I saw one of them hitting on a girl wearing a very hungry romper....and I believe my quote was, "What that guy doesn't know is that Kelly McGillis is a lesbian."  Or something along those lines.

Oh, and come to find out, they are in the Navy.  Pilots for the Navy.  They educated me....but that's probably a more boring story than you can even imagine....nonetheless, it was a pretty freakin' cool thing to see.

Just one more reason for me to be absolutely in love with Ednas.

I wanted to 'goose' one of them, just to say I did it, but I didn't.  Now I really wish I would have.

That would've been funny shiz.

“Sometimes it's the smallest decisions that can change your life forever.”

For the time being, I have added .blogspot.com to my blog address.  I'm in the process of creating a new website, and didn't want anyone to think that I've abandoned my blog.  Can't wait to get it up and running...then it'll be back to the old address.  Stay tuned....

“I love talking about nothing. It is the only thing I know anything about.”

So I have a few people a week tell me that I should write a book.  I've always wanted to, I just never really thought anyone would want to read it.  I'm pretty darn random and a lot of the stuff that comes out of my brain doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

So, since someone in the world is clearly reading my blog (thank you 4300 hits) I wanted to ask for some opinions.

If I were to write a book.  1 - would YOU buy it?  2 - what would you want to read about?

I'd really like for some input and possibly some ideas.  I, of course, could write a book about a fictional character, that would probably be based loosely on myself.  Or I could come up with some sort of character, or characters, to create a story about.  Orrrrr....maybe a book of short stories, based on a "fictional" character?

Which would you prefer?

Your comments are welcomed, and encouraged always, but especially now.  :)

Thank you in advance....
